As of April 22, 2024, Sage Group plc is working on consolidating and simplifying the Sage 100 plan structure. This reorganization includes an effective name change for the cloud-connected subscription version of the ERP, Sage 100cloud (formerly known as Sage 100c) – all mentions of “100cloud” or “100c” will be completely removed, replaced only with “Sage 100” or “Sage 100 SPC.” “SPC” is short for the Sage Partner Cloud, a program provided by Sage that allows on-premise ERP users to migrate their system to a hosted environment with a certified provider.
Name Changes and Plan Consolidation for Sage 100
This name change was announced on April 19, 2024, with an effective start date of April 22, 2024. However, per current documentation, all subscribed Sage 100 users will remain with their current product catalog and its naming conventions until the time of their contract renewal.
Sage 100 Editions and Platforms will also experience a renaming of their subscription-based plans:
- Sage 100 Standard = Sage 100 Standard Install
- Sage 100 Advanced = Sage 100 Advanced PVX Install
- Sage 100 Premium = Sage 100 Premium SQL Install
What is Sage 100cloud (Sage 100c)?
With the launch of the Sage Business Cloud, Sage Group plc also announced the simultaneous launch of Sage 100c, a subscription version of the ERP that received several updates, including for access to web-based services and integration with SaaS components. It was later renamed to Sage 100cloud to better reflect the purpose of this upgrade; however, the core solution itself remains hosted on-premise. The 2024 plan consolidation and renaming is intended in part to simplify the path to the cloud for Sage software users.
What is Sage Partner Cloud?
The Sage Partner Cloud is a program launched by Sage Group plc between 2020 and 2021 in the wake of the emerging mass digital transformation of many SMBs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Under SPC, customers on the desktop version of Sage 100 or Sage 300 can choose one of two options to migrate their ERP to a fully cloud-based environment:
- Option 1: Use the Sage Provisioning Portal (SPP) to host Sage 100 or Sage 300 with a third-party cloud service provider (CSP) for Microsoft Azure or AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- Option 2: Work with a Sage-accredited Strategic Hosting Provider of your choosing to host Sage 100 or Sage 300 (or Sage 50, Sage 500, Sage HRMS, etc.) in their private cloud environment.
Will This Name Change Affect Current Sage 100 Users?
The Sage 100 and Sage 100 SPC plan consolidation and renaming should not cause any disruption to service during this change. The only difference for end users will be the name change upon the point of plan renewal, which should take affect after the license change.
