You know what’s absolutely terrifying? Computers.
Yeah, we know what we should be saying right now. Since SWK Technologies is a software and computer services company, we know we should be talking about how amazing computers are and how they enrich your life, and how they connect the whole world in exciting ways, and how they make your business more efficient, and so on.
And they do.
But they’re flat-out terrifying, too.
There are days when your computer runs slowly, there are days when the programs you know and love just won’t respond to your commands. There are times when your computer decides to do things on its own and makes you want to scream. We know all you want to do is run a business, right?
But all that seems peachy and wonderful to deal with when your computer just kind of… stops working.
That’s when it suddenly gets scary.
The truth is, everyone relies on computers, yet most people understand very little about them. They’re like our cars. Without our cars, we can’t get to work—but when they break down, most of us have no idea what to do to fix them. We try to start them, we wait a few minutes, we try again, we pop the hood and realize that we have no clue what most of that stuff under there even is. We close the hood without adjusting anything… and we try to start the car again. Sometimes, magically, it works. But sometimes it doesn’t. When it doesn’t work, we call AAA.
The thing that makes cars easier to deal with than computers though, is that when your car breaks, there are always cabs, or friends, or busses, or rental cars that you can use to make up for the lack of a reliable vehicle. Not so much with computers.
What do you do when your computer breaks?
You can’t rent one. There aren’t public computer systems available for you to use in a pinch. (Well, okay, there are. They’re at the library. But they don’t run your business software and the librarians will kick you out if you try to call your clients on your cell phone.) Speaking of which, your phone or tablet can only handle so much of your data (if any), and when you need to type, that phone or tablet just can’t keep up.
Really, what do you do?
Do you borrow your teenage son’s laptop and use it while your computer is in the shop? Do you just buy another computer, plus a duplicate of all the software to have as “extra”? Do you maintain and sync an office computer and a laptop, and a home computer, and a tablet, and a phone?
Perhaps you should create a plan for this.
Luckily, this is what we do here at SWK Tech. We help you plan for when your computer either doesn’t work or just doesn’t meet your needs anymore. We are the people you call for help because we have an incredible computer support desk packed with knowledgeable people who help you immediately.
We are the people you call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year—the people who solve your computer problem for you, so that you can focus on your own specialty.
Just think of us like AAA for your computer.
