It’s often difficult to quantify if it makes sense for your business to initially implement or to change your ERP system. There’s the expense of the software and the consultants’ time. There’s training time for your employees when they’re not “productive”. And, the benefits are often nebulous.
Ernst and Young investigated this quandary. Between May and June in 2009, Ernst and Young surveyed 250 companies. Sage ERP X3 was the first ERP system implemented by two thirds of the companies and all of the companies were using X3 for at least two years before the survey was taken. They represent mid-market companies from all business areas. Our previous summary of this survey indicated why these companies chose Sage ERP X3 and how it faired when it came to improving management processes and reducing costs. This blog post will discuss what the survey showed about X3 in the areas of improved performance, customer service and profitability.
Improved Performance:
80% of companies interviewed said that the solution implemented produced a significant improvement and in some cases (13%) a competitive advantage.
They based their judgment on:
- User Satisfaction
- Actual production of the benefits initially expected from X3
- Return on Investment
The companies interviewed also saw performance increase in all departments:
Improved Customer Service:
Companies in the survey saw that Sage ERP X3 helped to improve delivery times, customer service and stockout percentages.
Improved Profitability:
Around 50% of the companies saw increased profitability after implementation and ¾ of these companies attributed the rise in profitability to Sage ERP X3.
The improvement of performance, customer service and profitability were just some of the many ways in which Sage ERP X3 went beyond expectations. This just shows why life is better after Sage ERP X3.
