This article will cover some of the Microsoft resources and integrations available for Sage 100 users, enabling you to connect your ERP with other business management solutions to create a unified productivity technology stack. By merging your accounting (and inventory management) software with tool ecosystems like the Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) suite and Power Platform, you will be able to accelerate automation and open up opportunities for solving your pain points. SWK Technologies – as both a Microsoft Gold Partner and Sage Diamond Business Partner – will help you unite these systems and transform your siloed technology stack into a consolidated infrastructure.
Here are some of the Microsoft resources and integrations available for Sage 100 users:
Microsoft 365 Custom Connector
Sage Developers have built a Custom Connector between Sage 100cloud (formerly Sage 100c), the Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft 365. This connection is made possible through 100cloud’s SaaS app connectivity and a secure API that allows you to synchronize data between your on-premise or hosted Sage ERP and your OneDrive database. The Sage 100cloud webAPI accesses your M365 license but retains permission controls to ensure visibility stays tied to the right credentials.
Watch this walkthrough and demo video from SWK’s 2021 Empower Conference to learn more about how this Connector works:

To make use of the Connector, you need access to Azure Active Directory (AAD) and a Microsoft 365 tier license. Once you have confirmed these prerequisites, you will need to install the connector for the Microsoft Power Platform and run the Configuration program before being able to create the Custom Connector in Microsoft Power Apps. Watch the video below to learn how to get started on the integration setup:

Microsoft Integrations for Sage 100 & Add-ons
Besides the Custom Connector for the whole Microsoft 365 suite and its individual apps, there are still additional integrations between Sage 100 and other solutions in the Microsoft family along with Sage add-on products, like Sage CRM. These connections provide you with a wide range of accessibility options as well as flexibility in how you develop your application stack.
Microsoft Power Platform
The Microsoft Power Platform is another family of applications that use the low-code Power Fx programming language, granting users access to easier in-house development opportunities leveraging a Microsoft-powered architecture. Three of these are available for integration with Sage 100 through its custom connector – Power Automate, Power Apps and Power BI.
Power Apps
The Power Apps suite grants you the ability to build your own customized applications using the data already contained within your systems through your established connectors (including with Sage 100cloud). No additional coding is required to create each new app, meaning you only need to connect the data sources and begin crafting programs.

Power Automate
Formerly Microsoft Flow, Microsoft Power Automate allows you to create customized workflows between your applications (including those made in Power Apps) and automate the processes. Leveraging the built-in engine, you can work through multiple options for scheduling tasks and determining triggers to execute on automated actions.
Power BI
Microsoft Power BI is a business intelligence tool available through a desktop, browser or mobile application, and that comes native with your Microsoft 365 subscription. When integrated with your Sage 100 ERP, you can collect and review data through multiple sources, including from apps like Excel, Sage ODBC or a SQL server. Once the data is synchronized, you can use Power BI’s toolset to build various reports – watch the video below to learn how exactly to connect Sage 100cloud with Power BI and which types of reporting you can leverage:

Outlook Integrations
There have been several potential integrations added between modules and add-ons for Sage 100 and the Microsoft Outlook email application with past releases of the former. Most of these enable you to exchange contact data and individual files between either system to various degrees. Please contact SWK here to see if a particular integration is available and to learn how to set it up.
Sage 100 Paperless Office
The Sage 100 Paperless Office module, as the name implies, lets you generate electronic file alternatives from historically paper-based documentation. Integration with an email client like Outlook allows you to attach these documents to email messages in a unified workflow.
Sage Contact
Sage Contact is a plugin crafted specifically to work with Office 365 and Microsoft Outlook, letting users pull in customer data from Sage 100 and view it in their email application, with quick-access tabs and mobile capabilities enabling you to consolidate communications on the fly. Contact details and files available include:
- Invoice/payment forms
- Credit information
- Contact name, address, phone, and email
- Customer memos
Sage CRM
Sage CRM is the primary customer relationship management solution available within the Sage ecosystem for SMBs, and which is available for integration with Sage 100, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Exchange Server. This connection allows you to synchronize your CRM-stored customer account data and even execute on items like scheduling and filing. Sage 100 & Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
Third-party connectors enable you to integrate Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM with your Sage 100 ERP, syncing data between each solution and granting the ability to execute certain actions in either user interface. Data that can be passed between Sage and the Dynamics CRM include account, customer and product information.
Hosting with Microsoft Azure
With the rollout of the Sage Partner Cloud, Sage 100 users can migrate their solution to a private cloud-hosted environment with Sage or a certified Strategic Hosting Provider. Available environments include Microsoft Azure, which requires a subscription that will be managed by a Service Delivery Partner such as SWK Technologies (with our Secure Cloud Hosting service).
